SUKKOT 8 DAY SIMCHAT TORAH

HIGH SABBATH

Nehemiah 8:17-18 The entire assembly of those who had returned from the captivity made booths and lived in them. The sons of Israel had indeed not done so from the days of Joshua the son of Nun to that day. And there was great rejoicing. He read from the book of the law of God daily, from the first day to the last day. And they celebrated the feast seven days, and on the eighth day there was a solemn assembly according to the ordinance.

John 7:2-3 Now the feast of the Jews, the Feast of Booths, was near. Therefore His brothers said to Him, “Leave here and go into Judea, so that Your disciples also may see Your works which You are doing.

Exodus 23:16 Also you shall observe the Feast of the Harvest of the first fruits of your labors from what you sow in the field; also the Feast of the Ingathering at the end of the year when you gather in the fruit of your labors from the field.

Exodus 23:14 “Three times a year you shall celebrate a feast to Me.

Leviticus 23:33-36 YAHWEH said to Moshe, 34 “Tell the people of Isra’el, ‘On the fifteenth day of this seventh month is the feast of Sukkot for seven days to YAHWEH. 35 On the first day there is to be a holy convocation; do not do any kind of ordinary work. 36 For seven days you are to bring an offering made by fire to YAHWEH; on the eighth day you are to have a holy convocation and bring an offering made by fire to YAHWEH; it is a day of public assembly; do not do any kind of ordinary work.
